Thanks but it wont let me do it because there are bids on the item.

  • Cancel all bids first, don't worry it's ok, then end.

Any friends interested who'll bid morethan the tax?
  • How to end your listing early:
    • Type your item number into the End My Listing Early form. (You can get this number on your listing, on your confirmation email, or on your My eBay page.)
    • If there are bids on your item, choose between "Cancel bids and end listing early" or "Sell item to high bidder(s) and end listing early". (If your item has no bids, you can skip this step).
    • Choose the reason you're ending your listing early.
    • Your listing will end and will no longer be displayed on eBay. If there were bidders, they will be emailed that their bid was cancelled and the listing ended early.

I could do. Think I will cancel bids then end the item.

  • If it's too late to edit or end your listing, for example, it's less than 12 hours before the end of the auction, you must contact any bidders to explain what's happened.

You may have a problem !!!!

    Lenny,

I just sold an old car through www.webuyanycar.com. There's a few other similar sites, but they made me the best offer. Why not have a look at the site as I suspect you'd get more for it that way. You can also reclaim your tax.

  • You can't end a listing less than 12 hours before the end of the listing if the item has a winning bid:
    • You may cancel bids, but not end the item unless you are selling the item to the high bidder. To do this, go to the End My Listing Early form and select "Sell to the high bidder".
    • You can't add to or change the item description.
If the item becomes unavailable during the last 12 hours of the auction (for example, you break it) you must contact the high bidder or buyer and explain what happened. You can get a Final Value Fee Credit if you and the buyer must confirm you mutually agreed to withdraw from the purchase.

OUCH!!!! That's bad, Lenny - Could you get a friend to make a 'phantom' bid, just before it closes? That way you end up paying ebay, sure, but you don't 'GIVE' the car away.
