Measuring carpet for stairs... help please!

I'm trying to work out how much carpet to buy (ebay job) but I'm not sure how to calculate - can someone help?

Landing is 1mx3m
2 mini landings/turn in stairs are 1mx1m each
13 steps that are 80cm wide, 25cm deep and 24cm high

can someone help me calculate sqm needed please?

TIA

It's not just how many square metres, it's the shape too. A professional, or you if you're good at drawing, will work out how to get it all out the smallest piece of carpet.

Go to a carpet shop and ask for a free estimate.

Assuming you don't have an issue with pattern matching, you need: -
    1 x 3 = 3
    1 x 1 = 1
    1 x 1 = 1
    0.8 x 0.25 x 13 = 2.6
    0.8 x 0.24 x 13 = 2.5
Total 10 Sq Metres. You have to take into account the width of carpet you are buying (say a 3 metre width) and calculate what you can get from that. Best to draw it out to scale. You need to check the measurements because that is a very narrow staircase at 25 cms wide!

Don't forget the stairs don't have to be in single pieces, you can hide joins on the stairs, just make sure it's all going in the same direction. Go a bit over on all measurements to be on the safe side.

From what you said your stair carpet will be in 3 pieces. If you have not made allowances for it the landing pieces will need to drop down by one tread so that the joins are in the corners. You also need to try an old piece of carpet to make sure when you fold it is still 24cm plus 25cm for each tread. In total for the stairs you will need at least 6.5 metres in length. So depending upon the length of each piece you will need 80cm x 3 from a 3 metre roll. Add on the landing pieces and my estimation is that you will need 4.5 metre length from a 3 metre roll.
Have your stairs already got gripper bars and underlay as these will be needed unless its a backed carpet.
It is important to draw these requirements out on a piece of paper.
Take it to a local retailer and see if you can get an off-cut.
