Thank you. KC:T. I always love your reasoned responses to my ramblings:A
Just dropped in again to heap praise on Lakeland:j. I know they are renowned for their customer service and I was a big fan and big spender there when I had money (or rather the plastic version of it:o). I had to replace a dead small appliance last week and only Lakeland stock it so I had to bite the bullet and pay what I felt was a steep price in my current frugal life:eek:
It arrived as quickly as expected and everything was fine :T. Then, totally out of the blue, a really lovely lady telephoned me to apologise and say they had discovered some anomalies in their online payment system and a very few customers had been charged twice:eek:. I was one of them and not only had they arranged an immediate reimbursement of the duplicate charge but had also emailed me a £20 e-voucher as an apology for the inconvenience. The money was back in my account within 24 hours:j. I had been totally unaware of this payment problem and couldn't believe how honest, proactive and generous they were in dealing with it.
Just thought I'd mention it as I can't praise them enough:). I can't imagine many other big name retailers handling this kind of issue in such an exemplary manner.0 -
That *is* good news! Always good to know when we can trust a household name, thanks CBC.
And you can all trust me when I say it's snowing here  though I'm sure I've not got the worst of it.
Because of the snow, though, the furthest I'll venture is the local convenience store - they have a *very* small selection of frozen veg, I could do with one extra till I pass a normal supermarket on Monday.
Otherwise - I'm having a *proper* tidying day:o:o I've just heard the influx of visitors my sister's coping with over the next 48 hours, and believe me, if I had to cope with the overflow if there was an emergency, I couldn't  so all the things I've been yabbering about are going to get **finished** today. Which will incidentally give me more clear space of my own. And if anything mse comes up that I can do without leaving the house, then I'll do it

Good point, earthgirl - I've gone very slowly, and there's been an awful lot of time spent clearing the hard disc on my DVD recorder, i.e. watching programmes I've already recorded but not watched
I've done remarkably little, just came back on for a natter, off to see people's diaries.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
sometimes thats the best way to clean, that way you dont tire yourself out and save some energy for the next day... slow and steady
clearing hard disc's are an important part of cleaning

It was snowing here too, but thankfully has stopped without settling.

With the way the wind is at the moment here, it could be snowing bowling balls, and they wouldn't settle... :rotfl:"Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

The wind is blowing here but keeps changing direction and the snow has definitely settled:eek:. It's drifted up against the glass back door, so much so that we won't be able to open it in the morning without loads of snow falling inside:eek:. It's very powdery snow which I never expect to settle but it's still falling and getting deeper by the hour. My car looks like an igloo:rotfl:0 -
Hope everyone's still toasty this morning, you too CBC, if its as deep as that.
I have snow :snow_laug proper snow thats still lying! Very thin, mind you
I carried on decluttering the hard drive of my DVD recorder yesterday
More of the same today, because of the snow - scanning, tidying, tiny bit of cleaning. It makes a difference eventually.
Been researching Jerusalem artichokes, will definitely be giving them a go - one set in the ground, in the garden, another at the front in a container sitting on the border - which a neighbour could water once, when I'm away in summer, he's a kindly soul. Both sets are experimental, but I'm hoping for great things :j2023: the year I get to buy a car0
