Have you read #26? It says the invoice has been cancelled by the pub I was visiting.
Not until you actually have it in writing that it is cancelled (and I hope you get it) but at the moment it says the pub is now contacting PE to cancel the invoice.

Yes I read post #26. That's not what I read though.

Glad to hear you now have confirmation of the cancellation.

    Sorry to have troubled you.

Why would you want to cancel it? It’s evidence of a fantastic result from your successful assertive approach to the landowner, alongside some helpful advice from regulars. The special ingredients other posters, who might be hit at this pub, would find really helpful.

In fact, if you could name the pub, that would be perfect, as lots of people will search Google on that pub name and will be pre-warned of their exposure to potential extortion.

You can’t cancel this thread, only MSE staff can do that, and I can’t see any good reason for them to do that.

That's very kind, Umkomaas, thank you. Of course I'm happy for it to stay, especially if it will help others.

There's a bit of snootiness displayed by some of the posters (not you), but at least I've received an apology. I have no legal background, hence starting this thread.

If you think it's ok to mention the pub, it's The Local Hero, at Freemans Common, Leicester. The carpark is near to both the town centre and Leicester Tigers, so since you asked why they (there's also a restaurant, bingo hall and cinema) would employ a loathsome reptilian company like ParkingEye, I suppose people will exploit its close proximity.

Anybody reading this who have been caught as I have should politely approach the pub. With me there were no questions asked, no receipts needed, they were just quick and eager to get the thing cancelled. I have been told on the phone that all the other times ParkingEye have cancelled it as asked. I have also got it written down on Facebook so if there is a problem I could hit them with that, but I don't think it'll come to that.

Very reasonable service, I would say.

If you really want to remove it, then go through each of your posts except the first and delete them.

Edit the first and the title to Please delete.

For belt and braces send a message to MSE asking that your thread be removed.

No, keep it. Unless anyone thinks it should go. I'm reasonably certain it can't be traced back to me.

MSE don’t have your details other than user name and (hopefully) your throwaway email address, so no tangible trace.

Even if they did, they’d have to come a long way for me!
