You won't be affected by this change until after your first year.bitstreams wrote: »Have I missed something here - I'm in my first year with them too; does it only kick in after a year?0 -
I'm in the same situation as ticktockhouse - permanently overdrawn up to £3k. The overdraft has been at 0% for a year and I've used it to shore up other accounts.
The 0% period ends next month and I had planned to prioritise paying this off. However it now seems more sensible to continue to use this overdraft to the max.
If anyone has advice for this situation I would love to hear it.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
If you are able to keep the overdraft and use it to the max, it will work out at about 2% APR, so yes, you'll be better off holding money in a savings account than using it to pay off the overdraft. The 0% period ends next month and I had planned to prioritise paying this off.
