So yesterday I left work at lunch time as I felt rubbish and I have just slept. Until about 4pm today. I do feel so much better though and I've also had another 2 NSD's so that is even better.
There have been some DD's taken out towards by debt so even only 5 days into the New Year I have already paid over £100, I will amend the figures in my signature.
Tomorrow is shopping day which I have £40 budgeted. Mum also put £40 towards it so I never go over on that but I need to resist any other spending. This is going to be my first test.
I'm a bit annoyed at the spend the other day. I've worked out I'm an emotional spender, I was having a bad day and the spending didn't make me feel better for long. Hopefully a lesson learnt.

Hi Tink,
Glad you are feeling better. I suspect I may fall under the emotional spender category
Im sure you will have no issues sticking to your grocery budget, but good luck anyway.

So NSD's are harder than I thought and when you get a late Christmas party thrown at you, they become even harder. That said out of 27 days, I have had 19 NSD's which I think it quite good for me.
Debt number 1 has been paid tonight in full yay :T:T 11 to go. I have also paid more of debt number 2 so hopefully by next month that will have also gone. There have been other payments here and there on the others too so a positive start to the year.
I am still taking my lunches to work which is a really big saving and drinks are free so that's a bonus. I have started on the weight loss but only 3lbs since New Year. I can't believe this but I have been ill again this week. I have literally been in bed for nearly two days with what I can only guess was the flu. I'm going to use a couple of my holidays to cover this though as I know we won't be having a big holiday again this year.
I'm hoping to take DD away next year when I will be a good way through by debt as she is 18 this year and doesn't want a party, so she would like to go away next year. I think a lot of our holidays this year are going to be taken up with hospital visits as her surgeon has found a reason for her constant knee pain but there isn't a quick fix. Lots of intense physio and then maybe an op. The physio is at the hospital so will probably be half days.
I have two journals on the go now because I am greedy :rotfl: I have my usual one with my diary, journal etc in it and then my other is my budget/debt journal. I think I love this just as much as my spreadsheet. I am very much a pen and paper kind of girl and thrive on the visual part of it. It was gifted to me by the lovely MT for Christmas. Even when I am away from here she has given me so much support on my debt journey for which I am very grateful
Oh I nearly forgot, I have put another £5 towards my emergency fund, every little helps. I still have some spare that isn't accounted for this month and I am hoping that when I get to the end of the month it will still be there and I can add that to my debt.
I hope everyone else has had a good start to the year.

Hello Tink,
Thank you for your lovely words. You're a great support to me too. xx

Ok so who pinched the last 5 months from me :rotfl:. I didn't think it was that long since I posted.
I haven't done as well as I hoped by the middle of the year but the debts are still coming down slowly (I will have to update my signature shortly). The weight loss is still the same although I am starting Yoga so maybe that will help. I really didn't enjoy going to the gym but I'm not going to waste the membership.
DD has now been referred to another hospital as our local hospital simply gave up on her. It was an incredibly stressful time but the hospital we are going to now is a specialist in this particular area, unfortunately it is over an hours drive away so we are using our holidays at work wisely.
She is doing really well in her apprenticeship too, even managed to get herself a little pay rise. She is so much better that me with money. When we went to visit MT she saved up for quite a few weeks and had a really big blow out in the shops lol. I don't know how we managed to get it all home. I thought at one point we might have to buy another suitcase. Now she is saving up for an iPad.
In 3 years I will be 50  so I have started a 50 before 50 list of things I want to achieve. The top one is to be debt free. I have noticed on other diaries that this is totally possible so I just need to get on with it.
Hope everyone is good.
Take care.

I seriously can't believe where this year has gone and I haven't even made one page in this year's diary.
I will be better next year. I have to be now me and DD have our own place again :j:j
I already have next years budget planned out till July and on the 1st of this month I started the penny a day challenge. I'm not doing it the correct way and in order though. Whatever change I have gets put against a date that the amount corresponds with. That way I won't have all the larger payments at the end.
DD turned 18 last month. I think she was only about 14 when I joined here:eek: She is working and is so much better with money than I was at her age which I am so glad about.
If, as the year has shown, I don't get to post on here again, I hope everyone has a lovely Christmas and New Year. New diary will start next year.
Take care.
