Yesterday was pants and today looks like it's heading the same way. Have already spend £1.05 on chocolate and hot chocolate. Still got to have lunch and I forgot to bring my Chilli with me so looks like I'll have to buy something from the Union.

    I'll update later.

I brought a sandwich, crisps, juice (x3) and an apple today from home...... I don't have the car and the nearest shop is too far from the office in unsuitable shoes.

Looks like a NSD for me today!!

Provided i can get home without going near a shop....... should be possible. Tea from freezer tonight so no need to venture into evil retailers!!!

Pass me my halo please!! :A

I spent £4 in veggie market and £5 in Somerfield. Have enough for week, and am batch cooking soup to last me for lunches, so all good. Also spent £1.50 on a VERY long feather duster for our damn ceilings.
  • I apologise in advance because this might get a bit long.

I went into town today to buy a new pair of jeans, which I had already budgeted £20 for.
Spent £2.35 on bus fare to town.

Decided in the spirit of DFW I would have a look around Poundland. I’ve always been a bit of a snob when it came to pound shops and never ventured into one before. Well I fell in love with the place and couldn’t resist picking up a few bargains.
    6 x lightbulbs
    A backing tray
Colgate Advanced whitening toothpaste (Normally pay £2.35 for this in Tescos)
2 X jumbo packs of smarties
    A packet of batteries
    A packet of wallpaper scrapers.
    Grand total = £6
Luckily I didn’t have more change on me otherwise I would have spent more.

After all my bargain hunting I was hungry and bought a hotdog = £2.70

Almost forgot I spent £2.78 on postage for my nephews birthday present.

On a more positive note I received a £10 Boots voucher from pigsback today so bought 2 pack of nappies (£7 special offer) and 2 packs of wet wipes (buy one get one free) with it. Reducing my tesco bill for this week by £12.

Plus the jeans I had budgeted £20 for only cost me £12.75.

And the best part – Halifax has increased my interest free overdraft by £1750 (I’m a mature student) so I’m putting increase towards my MBNA credit card debt which will save me a fair bit on interest.

    So overall
    £2.35 busfare
    £6 in poundland
    £2.70 hotdog
    £2.78 postage
    -£7.25 savings on jeans
-£12 savings on nappies and wipes

So in theory I’ve made a profit of £5.42 (not counting the savings I’ll make on interest payments)
Sorry that was even longer than expected
    (Im)Mature Student
    MBNA CC - £3500 (14.9%)
    Overdraft - £2750 (interest free)
First year of student loans - £7560
