does anti fade / solar window film work?

Hi all,

we have a very large bay window in our south facing dining room. It gets a lot of sun and we are having problems with this bleaching soft furnishings and furniture.

Does the anti fade/UV / solar window film work well to reduce fading?

we have a town house in spain and this was a real problem for us as our curtains (which remain drawn when we are not there) kept getting bleached edges.
3 years ago we had this film attached to our lounge windows. it is undetectable to the naked eye and has completely solved our issue with bleaching. you can get it in a mirrored or tinted form but we didn't want that and ours is completely clear and as i have said, invisible.

Yes I concur with the above post. We had it fitted on a run of 8m long glazing and it's invisible to see - you can see a slight tint to the window from outside when comparing it to other windows on the same facade, but the bleaching has stopped and the thermal value seems to help with cool/warmth.

I would recommend you get someone professional to fit as I would imagine it could look like a dogs dinner if you DIY'd it.
