Newbie Alert

Hey everyone,

I have been comping for about 5 years now but only massively on Twitter and Facebook - I had some amazing wins including a holiday to Ibiza rocks but due to changes to social media my wins seem to have slowed down and I really don't want to be wasting my time.

I have been reading through the forum and entering based on end date and have noticed a lot of people's "comping systems" include mag dailies first things and click to wins and just wondering how many of your wins come from here ?? I'm considering giving up twitter and Facebook and focusing on these more.

Any tips/advice greatly appreciated and thank you for all the hard work to the people who post the competitions

  • It's all luck!
Do what you feel comfortable with - me I'm blocking twitter and Facebook comps from my feed and concentrating on web entries plus the C2C and mag comps.

    Hi, and welcome to MSE.
It's a difficult question you ask because everyone likes different types of competition and probably win more from the one they do more, if you see what I mean. Personally I don't like Twitter or Facebook's way of doing things so hardly enter any on either. In the last year, I've had a few Instagram wins, a few rafflecopter/gleam and a few mag dailies plus about one Goodreads book a month but by far the greatest number of wins have come from web entries listed on here. I don't do C2Ws as I find them soul destroyingly boring!

    Hello,

Like you I used to LOVE twitter - I would win almost every Friday back in 2012-2014, but I can't remember the last time I actually won on there. Too many people and so many bots just make it not worthwhile.

I've never really had a system (I probably should at somepoint - it's an aim this year to be more organised and spend less time doing them)

I comp by end date - comps I really want to win, then I'll check the daily comps to see if there's anything there I'd like - but other than that no other system.

I tend to have a lot of DVDs turn up out the blue though - must be doing something right haha.

Sorry I can't be of more help - find something that suits you and adapt i t when it stops working!

    :)
