To enter the snow competition: We have just a few flakes and plenty of sunshine too so unlikely that life will grind to a halt here just yet.:D

That sounds like a real bargain chanie. I must start browsing eBay myself. DH uses it a lot for collecting his antique maps and prints and my DD1 buys handbags and other bits and pieces. I think I'm missing out!

I've got a casual pub meal later with some friends. I plan to wear my new red/orange hooded cardigan over black jeans. I might wear my new black suede boots too but that will depend on the weather. Don't want to ruin them on the first outing.:)

Glad to hear your back is improving LL.:)

I am over the moon with my purchase, Maman. I never thought to look on Ebay, but I typed in the brand and product name and it came up right away. I've checked with other products as well and some of them are similar prices to the high street, so I must have just got lucky,
  • Thank you for the yoga ideas evuka, I'm still struggling to get back to a reasonable fitness level, might give the gentle stretches a try! I've had a virus since NYE and really cannot shake it, had a few days of feeling better and then straight back to rubbishness :( gave in last week and went to the GP, had blood tests and a chest x ray. They found that my inflammatory markers were a bit high and will repeat the test if I'm not better in about six weeks; no results from the chest x ray yet but they didn't give me any antibiotics, I was gutted! I'm taking a cocktail of vitamins now but just can't get rid of this, it's so depressing to wake up every day and feel bunged up and generally terrible.

Poor little DS1 has been under the weather since Christmas too, he's definitely not as lively as he was. He's been at the GP too as he has a lump in his neck - the doctor thinks it's an enlarged lymph gland but as it isn't going down, they want to keep an eye on him. What with that and DS2 having a week of his temperature shooting up at night (I was hearing "Mummy" every night around 3am!) it's been hard work recently.....

I'm in awe of your ebay bargains sugarbaby, I have got a few bits myself but mainly toys/ large household items that people offer for collection only, as there aren't as many bidders for those. I've bought a fair few clothes too but nothing like as much of a bargain as chanie's jacket!

Hope you are enjoying your post holiday fabbing LL, well done on your weight loss and the improved blood sugar levels. I am doing terribly with my weight loss - zero motivation - so tired and in need of caffeine/ sweet things! I know that would be improved by a better diet too but I just didn't expect the virus to last this long.

Oh and thank you for everyone's advice on my flaky friend! I didn't contact her after she missed our meeting date, finally heard from her a week later. She apologised and said she completely forgot :( she's offered to meet up again and whilst I don't want to fall out with her, I'm not going to arrange another date as I don't see the point. It's a vicious circle, I assume she's not going to make it now as she's cancelled so often, therefore I don't remind her and it doesn't happen!
Finally debt free!! March 2018 :j
  • Hello lovely ladies

All I can say is Brrrrrrr:rotfl: Hoping you are all keeping well and warm. I was due a massage but I have cancelled. It is not fit to go out there. Pity because I feel I need a good pummelling, my body hates this weather. I am seizing up. Never mind I will do what I can with Epsom salt baths and stretches.

Needless to say the weight loss has stalled. Not surprised I think our bodies just try and conserve energy this weather but I do feel very lethargic. I guess it is just nature’s way.

Ruby..sorry to hear you are struggling. What a worry about your little ones. Hopefully you will all pick up soon. I think everyone is ready for spring now.

Not much news here. Tried some paleo baking yesterday. Just a simple biscuit using almond flour. They came out ok this time.

Trying to use my time productively during these snow days. Going to sort out some cupboards today and have a go at assembling my new chandelier for my bedroom. I do need to do a bit of food shopping but will wait until it is a bit warmer this afternoon, currently -5.

    Stay warm and safe.

    Snow watch

School was cancelled today for the children, so OH took the day off. The sun is currently out, but less than an hour ago, the snow was coming down heavy.

Right ladies, please push me into getting back into my previous hourglass shape...I have just had to buy bras in the next band size (but smaller cup :o) and knickers in the next size up too, just so I am comfy and not carrying a double bust

I used to be a 12, now I'm a definite 14 with a less defined figure :( I've also just seen a few photos taken over the last few months, and am not happy.

I need to come up with a relatively simple, easy plan. I've got 2 weeks worth of work lunches (small wholemeal sandwiches) in the freezer but after that I will be on what I call "lunch salad" for lunch, basically chopped cabbage, onion, celery, apple, cherry tomatoes, spring onions, cucumber & pepper with a few raisins & cashews in each portion. I can't have cereal or yogurt for brekkie in work so will have belvitas & a banana. Now it's just coming up with low carb dinners for DH & I that we both like :o Hopefully his job role will soon revert to him being away a couple of nights a week so I can get away with a couple of "diet cereal" teas and then fish/chicken & roasted veg/salad when he's at home without too much fuss!!

At least my new job is working out (unlike the last one), the car park is a good walk from the building and we're upstairs away from the loo & kitchen, so my steps will go up!

  • Ruby I am sorry to hear that you and your son are still suffering. I hope you both begin to recover soon.

LL, I feel as if all I want to do is snuggle down and go to sleep. I a getting a good night's sleep, but then I wake up feeling fatigued rather than my usual bright eyed and bushy tailed. I am nodding off in the day time which is really unusual for me.

I am thankful that I finally have a date for my ESA Health Assessment for this coming Monday, 5th March. Once I have their decision I will have a good idea of what my family's weekly budget will be.

My local Job Centre Plus in Brixton closed it's doors last Friday. :oEven though it was one of the top performing Job Centre Pluses, the landlord wanted his property back to develop the land, so the DWP had no other option but to close it. :p

    Hi all,

It took nearly a week for us all to recover from the vomiting bug & DS got a cold straight away after that. He's still not right & we're having some hard nights at the moment with not much sleep. :( He's then very tired & grumpy all day, which isn't like him as he's usually very happy. :(

I'm so glad that my DH helps me out as much as he can & doesn't just leave it all to me. I really find the lack of sleep one of the hardest parts of having a baby & even when I do sleep, I feel like part of me is always listening out "just in case". DS will be 9 months old tomorrow! It has absolutely flown in.

I was at work for my second KIT day on Tuesday & actually enjoyed being there (to a point, it is work after all :rotfl:). Looks like I'll be heading back around the end of April in a job share, just doing one day a week until then. I might head back sooner though, just depends on our money situation.

We are pretty much snowed in with a red warning & snow up to our knees and still snowing. We're stuck at the top of a big hill so no driving anywhere. Luckily DH has days off work anyway & we are stocked up with food.

Floss good luck with your eating plan, I think I need to plan food for work better as I always end up eating biscuits. :o

Ruby as sugar says hope you & the wee one are feeling better soon. Interesting that your flaky friend did contact you, I think you should let her do all the running, if she really wants to meet up she'll make the effort & not back out at the last minute. Do you really think she forgot or do you think it's an excuse?

Hello lovely ladies......hope you are all warm and cosy, safe and well.

Not much news here. I nipped out to Aldi yesterday before the snow hit again and stocked up on fresh produce so I am all set for the next few days.

Lots of Hygge going on, curling up by the fire, candles, fur throw on the sofa, books, tv. Lots of nice films. I rather like snow days, especially as I don’t have to go anywhere.

My neighbour is popping round later for coffee and a natter.....she only lives next door. I’ll bake some paleo goodies.

Good news is I have lost another 1/2 lb. it is a painfully slow progress but at least i am going in the right direction. Just need to remember the tortoise and the hare. If I only average a loss of 1lb a week I should be near my target by Christmas.

I am going to cook a rabbit casserole in the oven. I would normally do it in the slow cooker but the kitchen is really cold so having the oven on low for a few hours will warm the house up nicely. Yes it costs more in electricity but tbh I don’t really care. I refuse to be cold and miserable. I am wearing two layers as it is.......:rotfl:

    Hope you are all well.

Sashy......it is even worse when they are teenagers and have gone out for the evening. Most parents still sleep “on alert”. I could never really relax until I knew they were home safe and sound. You just get used to managing on less sleep. Mine always used to pop into my bedroom and let me know they were home so that I could then go into a proper deep sleep. Bless them.
