Hi

I want make a copy of my mp3s that is destructively Normallised (so they all play back at about the same volume) on a mp3 player that doesn't have dynamic normalisation.

I usually use mp3gain for this sort of thing, but it is 32 bit and is a bit slow. Is there a 64 bit alternative ?

Would prefer freeware, a GUI and m4a support, if possible. Windows.

Thanks

p.s. I've already looked here: https://alternativeto.net/software/mp3gain/

.

32 vs 64 bit will not affect the speed of the process. 64 bit means you can use more then 4GB of RAM but unless you're hitting RAM usage limits (and have enough installed to be able to use more) you won't notice any difference. Normalising MP3 file is very unlikely to use that much RAM.
  • If the MP3 itself has been manipulated rather than meta-data inserted to normalise, there's no way to get back what has been lost.

Audacity has a Normalize function which as far as I can see does what you want.
