Hey guys I haven't posted on here in a looong time, but today I was trawling and couldn't find any similar posts so thought I'd start a new thread.
How much has everyone managed to accumulate from savings interest, cashback, etc this year? I would be curious to know as I've o my recently start paying attention to my own and it's quite interesting.
I'll start with mine:
£76.89 interest from a Halifax savings account
£3.13 interest from Nationwide
£16.31 cashback from Halifax
£10.00 other cashback
Total: £100.04
I know it's not a lot but like I said I've only just started to pay attention to my savings options and cashback opportunities, so next year should be a lot better! I'm keen to see how well all you guys have done this year
All the best for 2018! :T _party_ _party_ :T

For savings I think I'm averaging around 4.5% this year on around £15kRemember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0

Not as much as I made in 2016 (or 2015 for that matter)!0

Savings income is WAY down, because it's being moved into S&S ISA and dealing0

This will be the first year in a while where savings interest is behind inflation for me. This is on a fairly large balance of which ~£30K will be spent on home improvements in the first half of 2018.0

Unfortunately my interest spreadsheet works April to April for each tab!
Can I take the opportunity to wish everyone a Happy and very Healthy 2018.0 -
Not much in savings just the various 5% small accounts for rainy day cash and some from the joint Santander 123. Probably a few hundred quid interest certainly below my personal savings allowance.
Cashback has been much better we have probably made a couple of thousand each. In particular Nutmeg and Moneyfarm signup bonuses, bank account switching, credit cards and insurance cashback.

Over the last 12 months I've earnt about £2,700, but that includes switching bonuses, interest saved on my offset mortgage and interest on ISAs and normal savings accounts, as well as cashback and mucking about with the higher-paying current accountsI consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?0

Between my accounts, my OH's accounts and our joint accounts during 2017 we've been paid a little over £5,000 in interest.
~ £1,600 tax free (from National Savings)
~ £3,400 gross (from a range of interest paying current accounts, regular saving accounts and a P2P account)
My OH won't need to pay tax on hers but my share will probably be over £1,000 so some tax to be deducted.0 -
Between us we've managed £2950 in interest, and £550 in Cashback etc. That's a little low, as we've been moving quite a bit into RS's, which only pay out interest annually, so not accounted for yet.
I could get really technical and accrue it monthly on a spreadsheet, but I'll just wait until it's payable.
March 18 should be a bumper month!!!!How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)0 -
Wow some of you have done incredibly well compared to my measly £100! Thanks for all the responses, it's really enoutraging me to try much harder this year :T
And again, a Happy New Year to you all!:happylove0
