Hi all,
On the 11th of December my mum received a call from who she believed to be Virgin Media. They convinced her to sign up to virgin for cheaper than the sky package she had. They said they would cancel sky etc and she could cancel the direct debit.
It turns out that sky wasn't cancelled and they didn't know anything about virgin cancelling and said they couldn't do that anyway.
Virgin have basically implied that they wouldn't say they would cancel sky and as she is out of the 14 day cooling off period there is nothing they can do.
Looking at my mum's account the company who must have called were called Energy Compare Limited, they didn't mention their name at the time and my mum assumed it was virgin.
She's now got to pay extra month for sky and a month up front for virgin
Anything I can do here? Anyone else had similar issues? My mum is really worried as she cancelled her direct debit on the assumption virgin would sort everything!
Thanks in advance
Steve
