I really need to vent.

My OH came home from the Gym tonight to tell me that his phone and cash were stolen out of his locked locker. Yeap, this is really bad but what makes it worse is that 3 months ago his watch which was of huge sentimental value was stolen from another locked locker at the same gym. That is two thefts in 3 months. And what was David Lloyd response? They said that they were sorry then were uninterested. They mentioned that there was a problem with this sort of thing but it was too expensive to change the lockers over to padlocks. So effectively nothing is safe and there is no point in having locks on the lockers at all. I wonder if the cost of putting proper locks on the lockers adds up to loosing three members, my OH and his gym buddies, and anyone else who chooses not to join the gym after i tell them what i really think about my experiences with them.

I know all businesses are run to make money, David Lloyd being no different, but at the very least they could show that they are actively doing something to meet customers needs, that being the protection of their personal property and actively seeking out those that steal on their premises.

Phone up head office and speak to a Mr D Lloyd.

If you read up on Virgin gyms, they have introducted CCTV in changing rooms (I know its an offence) and introduced armed guards who are trained to kill if you do not produce your membership card and or retina scan.


In any event, why bother travelling to Jamaica to use the gym. Why not use a local gym for local people local local.
