Cape Verde, package or DIY?

It won't be til February ' 19. Want to go for a week mid Feb, probably AI.
I just had a quick look at TC and Tui to get an idea of price for a week for this Feb, and noticed that Feb '19 was bookable!
The prices seemed pretty good, compared to booking flights and hotels seperetaly.
Any advice please? Haven't booked a package in a good few years. When would be the best Time to book?
This year's February holiday only booked last week.

I have no experience of Cape Verde. I am a DIY guy where holidays are concerned but if you are happy with the price and package you have seen go for it. Surely TC or Tui will let you pay the deposit and then you don't have to worry about the balance till usually ten weeks before I think. So you can sit back and look forward to the holiday. Don't forget insurance.0

It seems that you have already compared the costs of getting a package, as opposed to buying exactly the same flights and hotels on separate bookings. Buying the whole lot as a 'package' not only eliminates small but annoying costs such as transfers but also gives you stronger legal protection, so long as you have got a real package rather than an agency making separate bookings on your behalf. So it might be worth paying a bit more for this. If going DIY, ensure that your hotel(s) are on the same island as the arrival of your flight and that transfers are available: inter-island flights seem to be very expensive while inter-island boats do not have fixed timetables. A pity, since the islands that interest me are not served by the cheap charter flights.0

Thanks. Think we'll go down the package route for this particular holiday. Yes it' S a proper package TC and TUI both do it, with only £90 difference between the two. Never been to Cape Verde before so happy to have it all done for me TBH. Just feels strange to be booking over a year in advance..0
