As the 2nd of January is a Tuesday and not a bank holiday (unless in Scotland) the payment should go into the bank as normal schedule.0

As stated Tuesday isn't a bank holiday in England or Wales. If payments are made early then it's because a bank would process it early If he hasn't recieved payment already then payment will obviously be as normal on Tuesday.Hi all my father in law is due his esa payment on the 2nd of January 2018 but banks are closed Monday as its a bank holiday and we cannot find any clear information on when payments due on the 2nd will be paid if they are due in earlier as they cannot be paid in later any help please would e much appreciated0 -

A payment that is paid into a bank on Tuesday will not be sent from DWP on Monday. Payments are sent 3 working days before they are due to be paid into a bank, these are called bacs payments. As stated in previous posts, payment will be made as normal on Tuesday 2nd January because this is NOT a bank holiday.Hi thanks for your reply as Monday is a bank holiday I kno from speaking to Dwp before payments are processed 3 days before payment date as banks and Dwp will not be open on Monday to process this payment then how can it reach an account for the normal pay day it can't as no one in the Dwp can use the data base to confirm out going payment is sent0
