Hi
I'm just setting up a new business where people will be mostly paying via a website.
Can anyone give any advice regarding the cheapest way to accept debit/credit cards online? I've investigated cardnet via LTSB and PayPal so far. Any cheaper options out there please?
Thanks

They vary, but your transaction quantity and average transaction value would dictate the 'cheapest' solution, the most common is PayPal, so at least it’s a name that more of your customers will recognise, and therefore trust perhaps?I'm not at expert at anything, my views and comments have no legal standing and are written without prejudice :silenced:0

Google are offering free transactions until the end of the year when you have google checkout on your site.0

Join the Federation of Small Businesses and get discounted rates on a Streamline merchant account, then have it integrated into your website.
Maybe not quite the cheapest but I'd rather pay to a merchant account than through PayPal etc. Make sure you have your website professionally designed and built too.0 -
Depends what you are selling. As a buyer Paypal is attractive to me. The reason, I am lazy and like the convienience of paying with a couple of clicks.. Bashing in credit card number, expiry date, address, postcode etc. every time is starting to feel rather old fashioned!
Millions of people already have paypal but it does suffer a bit of a boot sale image so direct Credit card should really be a primary method!
Google checkout seems to offer the same type of benefits to the buyer and is being pushed hard so is probably worth investigating as well.
The above just my thoughts as a buyer
Good luck,
