Nationwide confirmed PPI, but should I do £10 DPA request before my mis-selling claim

I'm using the MSE guide to PPI, and Nationwide have confirmed that I did indeed have PPI on my mortgage.
The next questions are whether it was missold (as I remember), including the Plevin aspect.
I could just send off a claim to Nationwide, using Resolver and my memory, on the basis that they'll have to dig out the original documents anyway.
Or I could put in a DPA request first, get hold of the original documents, and make a claim based on those.
The guide isn't clear (it talks about digging out the documents in order to demonstrate you had PPI, rather than to demonstrate you were mis-sold), and I wondered if there was any standard advice on this?

Such documentation is usually only useful if you are unaware whether you had PPI, but it's unlikely to reveal any mis-selling. Since Nationwide have already confirmed that there was a PPI policy, there seems little point in requesting documents.
