19 - 29 Eleven small plastic pots recycled
The cupboard I emptied is full of cake decorating utensils - in the dim & distant past I made & decorated a couple of wedding cakes as well as unusual birthday cakes! (Even went on a six week course for a couple of hours a week). Never going to be needed again as the younger generation have taken over. So I will gather the bits together & see if any of these youngsters would like them - I do not do bay of e.
Bagged for cs:
30 - 36 T-shirts barely worn
37 Summer dress
38 Pair of silver pumps
39 - 40 Fancy scarves
40 - 41 Winter scarves
42 - 45 Warm Socks
46 Warm neck warmer
47 Pair of Woollen fingerless gloves
48 - 49 Fancy small evening handbags
50 - 51 Wheelie bag & hold-all full of Boxed DVD sets & CDs
Intention is to have a coffee , get warmly wrapped up & get bus to cs.
I will pop in later & admit either success or failure!
Happy decluttering everyone!
Mrs SD:)

Success - 1hr 20m round trip - buses were running smoothly & I didn’t get side tracked. I was a woman on a mission!
Have also started a new bag with items for cs, however I have a new cs to investigate which is actually on The Isle of Dogs. Shorter bus journey OR radical for me the possibility that I might walk?!? Could help with decluttering some weight!

I know I am a bit late to the party, but can I join you? I am struggling to get into full declutter mood so maybe this will help.
“In order to “encourage myself” to declutter, when I visit cs it will only be listed as two items (regardless of number of contents) - one hold-all & one wheelie bag.”

A bit disappointed in myself, but I am going to back track on the above comment as I think I mmight have set myself up to fail miserably!:embarasse
However, the two bags I packed before XMas were only marked as two items on my list!
Oh well, back to it - I am about to declutter some ingredients from fridge & larder for hm soup & scones.

Awww.Don't be too hard on yourself Mrs Salad Dodger. We can count however we want.If you want to start counting individual items now,you can-maybe have an estimate of how much you decluttered before Chrissy and add that to your total to bump it up.Every item counts, and the work of getting rid of it should be recognised.
I love keeping a list of every item that I declutter, though sometimes I know it does slow you down when you are "in the zone" and just want to chuck stuff out. What I sometimes do on these days,is photgraph the items I am about to get rid of,and use that later to count/list the items. The photos of items that will be leaving can also be very motivating,as are "before" and "after" photos.I take those allllllll the time. Then,on days where the house is in that "getting worse before it gets better" stage,or when we have been really busy as a family, and the place gets messy,or when it feels like the decluttering is having no impact at all,I look back on photos of how areas of my house looked 3,6,9 months ago,and realise how far I have come.It might be a whole room,or a surface you have finally won the clutter battle over.
I have to say, also ,MrsS,that after your last post mentioning Isle of Dogs,I had to have a bit of a google, cos I had never heard the name before.I was wondering where that island could be.What a cool-looking area, built on the bend of the river.

Ooooh I'm going to join this belatedly if OK?
Did a ton of decluttering in 2017 so I'm not aiming for 2018 items - I don't think I'd have anything left lol! Well maybe it would be doable with how many books I have... but I don't plan on decluttering those too extensivelyI really love books and it makes me happy to have a big library. I love everywhere else decluttered though
I have a young son who is a bit of a clutter generator, not his fault as he's only just two and hasn't yet reached the stage of asking for things - but the amount he received for Christmas and his recent birthday was frankly horrifying  thank goodness he's not getting any presents for another 11 months nowmy husband has hoarding tendancies but over the last 10 years I've worked on him and he is now (usually) relatively agreeable to decluttering.
EDIT to say I think I'll aim for 10 items a week or around 500 over the year and adjust if needed.Part time working mum | Married in 2014 | DS born 2015 & DD born 2018

I mentioned on here just before Christmas that I had given my friend some toys that my kids (son,in particular) had never even opened.
Today she came around and collected a few unopened toys that I knew would be perfect for her son in particular, though she was saying this morning her daugter would love them to,and they both have birthdays this month,so she will work it between them.
So out of the house today:

What have I done my house is upside down
I'm having I really shouldn't have started this moment, landing now holds half ( will call it the loft for ease) contents so far for rehoming
6 23 Christmas gift bags, ( I been accumulating faster than I have been using )
7 set of brand new car mats, have no idea where they come from but been there for years
8 box of fiction books, kids are never going to re-,read books like Harry Potter so time to pass them on but it will make everyone aware that the Terry Pratchett books are mine
9 box of cookery books ( reference books I find the hardest to part with)
10 two halogen heaters
11 mini sewing machine
Recycled
12 DH stash of household appliances boxes, I see the sense in keeping the TV one for when we move but things like the kettle box, :rotfl:
13 annoyingly 3 bottles of a reasonable champagne someone moved in there for storage and not given thought to the water boiler and how hot it gets. I know I didn't do it
14 2 memory foam pillows cover has gone musty in storage can't be washed they can be upcycled into a draft sausage for my workshop door.
Tea breaks over better get on with it0
