Baxi combis temp question

Keeping things simple please; MIL and ourselves have Baxi combis (ours is 12+ years old and on its last legs) and MILs is 7 years old. I was asked by MIL what the CH temp knob should be set to. These are quite old (and inefficient I am sure) but without a temp number on the dial, what should they be set too?
MIL just turned hers up (pic attached) and the rads are too hot to touch. Is that too hot? So - not very scientific - how hot should the rads be on first "heat up" of the morning? Cheers.

If they get too hot to touch then turn them down a bit - it's not very scientific but you should at least make sure that no one gets burned or blistered especially if there are elderly people or children around.
It's like most things, there's no specific right or wrong so set it where the rads get hot enough to heat the place in a reasonable amount of time but not so hot that they are capable of injuring someone.
If it's a combi (ie you dont have a hot water tank), does the same control affect your hot water temperature as well?. If it does then make sure that your hot water is at a reasonable temperature as well.Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0 -
Thanks. DHW has a separate heat control on my crappy Baxi Combi. Cannot wait for this to fail as we must get a decent (efficient) boiler. It annoys me greatly that combis have such a limited lifetime AND they cost an arm and a leg to replace. Methinks an invention of the industry to keep their pockets lined...If you put your general location in your Profile, somebody here may be able to come and help you.0
