PPI & Intelligent Finance / Resolver

Morning all.

I'll not waffle on too long but I had both loan & CC with IF back in 2001 which they've written to me to confirm that PPI was on both. Now I honestly do not remember applying for PPI and I had read elsewhere that prior to 2007 you had to untick the PPI box on internet applications - there is no excuse for daftness I know and I'm almost sure that I unticked it. At the time I was in employment, had ASR, Critical Illness and Death cover on my mortgage, so was the PPI applied inappropriately?

Also is it worth going through a service such as Resolver or go directly by the questionnaire from IF?

Thanks.

    If you unticked the box, PPI would not have been applied!
    However, if you didn't untick the box and that box was definitely pre-populated then you mayhave a valid complaint.

    Do you know for certain that there was a pre-populated box which you had to actively untick, though?

    2001 is almost 17 years ago now.

    If Intelligent Finance have sent you a complaint questionnaire already, the wisest option would be to fill it in and return it..

    Why are you only complaining about this now, by the way? You already had PPI refunded as far back as 2010..

    I've a pretty good memory but No I can't be 100% sure and I'm not overly fussed whether I get something back or not - just any loan I've had I've never had PPI on them so this was a bit of a surprise.

    I'll send back the questionnaire then. As I said though, I'm not fussed whether I get anything back - just a surprise to find I had it on both loan and CC :huh:

    But in 2010 you reported receiving a PPI refund in 2008, according to your thread here;

    Perhaps your memory isn't as good as you thought? ;)

    Cleanly forgot about that claim. Oh well, still not arsed if I get nothing back from IF though.
