New kitchen - Malvern recommendations

A friend of mine has recently moved to Malvern and is looking to get their kitchen and dining room turned into a kitchen / diner and full new kitchen fitted. There are a couple of kitchen showrooms in Malvern and several more round the Worcestershire area. Does anyone have any recommendations or know of ones to avoid? They're looking for somewhere to do the full job (design layout, take down partition wall and fit kitchen) and want good quality but without spending a fortune. Thanks!

I buy bathrooms from Cambabest. They do kitchens too. The people are nice and prices are really reasonable, but so many mistakes get made and items arrive damaged if they go to their Warehouse in Birmingham and spend any time there. The premises there simply aren’t big enough to cope with the volumes they deal with. I make sure that things are delivered promptly to us after ordering. Kitchens could come directly to you from the manufacturer, so may not be so much of an issue.

I’m a big fan of the Shaker Kitchen Company at the moment. They have a showroom in Cirencester, a distance from Malvern but the kitchens are great value for bespoke items and they’ve also recently release a cheaper off-the-peg kitchen. The first of three that we’ve ordered will be fitted by them next week. We’ve done all the building work. I would ordinarily have our guys fit, but the price is reasonable (not hugely more than paying someone directly) and frees up our people up elsewhere. I’ll use them on our Malvern project too if all goes well.

Ordinarily, it works out cheaper to have your own builder/fitters lined up and have the kitchen supply-only. DIY Kitchens is the one that comes up consistently well on this board for quality and value. I have a carpenter in Worcester who has fitted many, many kitchens for us. He’s a star.
