Hi
If my laptop maximum screen resolution is 1600x900 could I attach a 1920x1080 monitor to increase my res?
Or would it only display a maximum of 1600x900 due to the laptop?
Thanks

Depends on the laptop output unless the monitor is upscaling the signalEx forum ambassador

Depends on whether the graphics chip supports it. If it's recent, it probably will - post the model name and people can probably tell you.For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple and wrong.0

you can get monitors that connect via usb. not exactly for gaming use, but not that shabby either.
They do need drivers, well the ones I have seen do. Some even support linux. there are usb2 and 3 versions0 -
Hi
The graphics card is Inter (R) HD Graphics0 -
Yes it will do 1920x1080 and should be fine for most usage, however you may struggle if it is a large screen as you can get 1920x1080 monitors of any size and smart tvs but I have 2 laptops and 1 struggles even streaming video onto my 60 inch tv without the fans going like the clappers, but my other laptop is fine for it.0

It can display on both the laptop and the desktop monitor and each of them in their native resolution. You can choose whether to display on both or just display on the external monitor when plugged in.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. The size of the screen is irrelevant. All that matters is the resolution.0
