Ebay fees on "Good Till Canceled"

Options
Hello all

I am looking for a bit of advice on fees I have been charged by ebay on items listed as Good Till Canceled.

I currently have a promotion where I can list 100 items without paying a listing fee (usually 35p) I have been listing these items as Buy It Now with Good Till Canceled, when listing them the fees at the bottom of the listing for the item have show as £0.00 however when reviewing my invoice I have been charged 35p for the listing.

How the "God Till Canceled" works is that after 30 days it is automatically relisted by ebay without any interaction needed by the seller.

ebay have said that items listed as good till its canceled are not included in the promotional offer, however my argument is that at the time of listing the items the fees shown were £0.00 it was not made clear that the automatic relisting of the item would incur a fee.

has anyone else had any experience of this?

Thanks in advance

Mark

  • GTC are usually excluded from special offers/discounts but even if they are, they usually expire on the 30 day. GTC just means that after 30 days the listing renews at the "current" rate.

If you read the T&Cs, you will see that it is clearly set out that a fee is payable where a listing is auto-renewed - BUT I agree with you it isn't clear. If you click on the 'fee' (zero) payable at the time you first list, you get a pop up which includes the words 'These fees apply to your listing and any relists or Good 'Til Cancelled renewals.' Have you specifically pointed this out to ebay CS?

Thanks, I use the ebay app so the pop up isn't available.

As above, my argument is that it isn't clear that these fees are payable. when I listed the item, there was no mention of the renewal at the "current" rate.
  • Hi, I’m in the same situation. Did you manage to get any fees back from eBay?

It doesn't look like the original poster ever came back to update. It is rare though for ebay to make goodwill getsures regarding fees, all you can do is try, phning is probably best.

However, assuming you are still reading have a look at this thread:
