I cant say whether there will be a sale at Easter like most of the kitchen retailers but I bought my DIY Kitchen 7 years ago and it was cheaper than the 50% or 60% offers of the well known competitors. Plus the cabinets are already assembled (unless you request otherwise) and I was able to get real wood doors within the costs. The other advantage was the cabinets were coloured and additional panels at the end of runs were not needed. I also used their own plinths which were a lot cheaper.
So all in all it was a very easy kitchen to plan and DIY install.
My kitchen is still as good as new and being wood in years to come I can paint it!
(I see they have 10% off until mid Jan.)

Kitchens are on permanent sale, if you fall for that type of sale that is.

    Thanks guys

Glad to hear you love yours Cranford :) I'm deffo decided DIY is where we are going- builder wants us to use howdens but I'm going to stick to my guns.

I saw the 10% off atm and that would be amazing apart from the fact the design isn't quite finished yet and I bet they would want to deliver much sooner than we are ready.

You could get a quote from your builder for Howdens. Howdens only supply trade so they must give incentives, maybe your builder will share these with you !

    Why DIY over Howdens?

Get a quote from both ( via your buiders account from Howdens) our builder didnt add anything on to our Howdens quote, but some do

I ordered from them a few year ago and you could choose your delivery date so they would not deliver sooner than you needed. Ring them and tell them your position as you might be able to get the 10% off when you place an initial order and they might allow you to make changes up to a certain date. I think that is what I did.

Because they are better quality (or at least look better quality as I have seen both).

I know when I ordered mine from there, you had a good few weeks to change your mind. As some one else mentioned, give them a call and ask about it.

I'm after a handleless kitchen in matt white- pretty sure howdens only do it in gloss which is wrapped.

Doors are 22mm from DIY whereas the equivalent money wise in Howdens was 18mm.

Just seems like a nice transparent company to deal with- no secrecy regarding pricing etc.

    I'll drop them a line :)

    Yes, they really are.

I would ring them. They are very helpful over the phone. You can even send them in your design and they will look over it for you.
