Hi
Can anyone advise me, please on what to do, please?

Back in November 2017 the occupants of two cars visited in McDonalds (Newark) and stayed in there for over two hoiurs they purchased food and drinks.

Over 3 weeks later the registered keepers have both received a parking charge from UKPC. I appealed on behalf myself and the other keeper. They now sent the other keeper a charge increasing the fine from £50 to £100. They have sent me a letter asking me to confirm the driver for the appeal.

Basically, the occupants had never been to this particular McDonalds before,it was a dark and cold night and they did not notice any signage (although I checked since there are signs on the lamp-posts just not in front of where they parked). None of staff advised the occupants of a time limit even though they we were sat and eating for the duration.

Any advice would be appreciated

It looks like you managed to make the initial appeal without giving away the driver's identity. Good.

First, edit your post to remove information about who did what. Only ever refer to The Driver and The Keeper who are two different people. ;)

Ignore the fishing letter from UKPC.

Wait for your PoPLA code, then appeal using the template appeal points from Post 3 of the NEWBIES thread. Show your draft here for checking before submitting it.

While you are waiting, the keeper should complain to the manager of Mucky Ds that occupants of the car spent money in their establishment and you want the ticket cancelled.

  • The keeper, did complain to McD.

The Head Office of McD said it's nothing to do with them they will pass my details to the restaurant.

Phonw call received from someone claiming to be the restaurant business manager who said parking charges had nothing to them. It's all up to the parking company.

Can't find the NEWBIES thread how do I find it?

The NEWBIES is on the same page as where you clicked on the New Thread button. A few clicks back from here, or use the grey Forum Jump "Go" button in the top or bottom right of this page.

Everyone is asked to read the NEWBIES first before posting as it answers most questions already.

Which is a lie if they engaged the PPC it has everything to do with them, that's the usual excuse to cover the fact that a PPC may limit the number of cancellations in a month to a very small figure, or charge the site in the region of £10 per cancellation.

This is to make sure they get the maximum return from their scamming scheme.

Also the site will probably get a commission on every successful payment.

You see it's got nothing to do with parking management, or fairness, it's all about profit, and fobbing you off is win win and you lose.

You were looking at it when you hit 'new thread', instead of reading the top threads calling out to be read first.
