PIP Carers Allowance & Universal Credit

Up until end December I have claimed Carers Allowance and my partner has been paid PIP.
We are claiming some legacy benefits, HB and CT Reduction. It is not much but it helps.
My partner has had to start a new PIP claim - her previous claim was fixed for 2 years. It is going to take a while, hence the old claim running out and Carers ending.
I've been looking at the tiggers for UC claims, we are in a full UC area, does anyone know if due to either the PIP or Carers ending will trigger a compulsory move to UC.
I've had a look at the UC list and our circumstances are not listed.

No re-applying for PIP will not trigger a move to UC.
I would advise getting help with the new PIP form -

However, were you claiming IS in addition to CA?
If so, then now that the CA claim has stopped, you may have to apply for UC to replace IS once PIP is in payment.
Or is your partner claiming ESA? Or are you working part-time and earning below the CA earnings threshold?
I would suggest you get a benefits check from the CAB, as well as help with the PIP2 form.
Why the delay in re-applying for PIP?
Did you not get the DWP letter / form to continue the claim without a break?Alice Holt Forest situated some 4 miles south of Farnham forms the most northerly gateway to the South Downs National Park.0 -

This.
Both working, we started a business two years ago, gradually increasing our wages. My partner has Aspergers so working together and supporting her seemed the best way to go.
PIP forms have gone back, just this morning we received the notification that they have all the info to go forward with the claim.
No letter to continue without a break, just forms for new application. Had a read around and apparently some claims don't have renewal forms, instead have new claim forms. No re-applying for PIP will not trigger a move to UC.
That is good to know, thank you.
Do you know if the same is true of the Carers ceasing?0 -
I do not understand why your OH's PIP has stopped.
Usually a renewal form is sent to claimant about one year before the end of the award period. There should be no break in PIP until after an assessment has been made.
Why is this a new application?0 -
Some PIP awards have end dates, if this is the case then they will be sent a letter 3 month before the award is due to end.pmlindyloo wrote: »I do not understand why your OH's PIP has stopped.

Yes, this one had an end date - I think it was because we took it to tribunal that a fixed award was given.
We needed help with filling it in and had to wait a few weeks for an appointment, and so were given a two week extension on the return date.0 -
When was the end date of the PIP award? When did you get the letter about renewal?0

Yes, Tribunals usually award a fixed term, which means a new claim rather than a review. You're still rather late even with that extension, normally it's at east 3 months before the end date they contact you.fishybusiness wrote: »Yes, this one had an end date - I think it was because we took it to tribunal that a fixed award was given.

I know we were 'late' - trying to work, getting an appointment that we could get to and the charity could accommodate was hard, they are so booked up. Dealing with aspie kids and an aspie partner, plus all the stress of PIP - and trying to get all of the information correct relative to the questions asked - it is a big ask, and we got there, just.
It is done now, PIP will stop for the moment, and all said I wouldn't be surprised if it went to tribunal again. So it is likely to stop and then we go through the due process and wait for 6 months or so before tribunal - all in all it was 9 months last time, and then we were back paid.
A couple of weeks later at the beginning of the process is nothing really.
I just need to know how the end of these benefits will affect us.0
