Will i still be able to upgrade a windows 8.1 machine to windows 10 for free?

I'm thinking about buying a refurbished PC today and it comes with windows 8.1 pro 64 bit

Will i be able to upgrade this to windows 10 for free?

The Seller says:
"Professionally installed with genuine Windows 8.1 Professional 64-bit"

Since its a genuine copy of windows i thought i might still get a free upgrade?

In theory the free upgrade window (pun intended) has closed, but a friend recently upgraded a Win 7 PC using the “Windows Creators update” tool from Microsoft. https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/software-download/windows10

I think the answer is that it’s not guaranteed to be upgradable for free, the price needs to be low enough to reflect that.

You can upgrade after Dec 31st but it will become chargeable, however once you get your digital licence for the computer it remains with it for life.

Had no issues installing windows 10 using a windows 7 serial earlier this year.
