RBS PPI Claim

Hi all,
I received a letter recently from RBS themselves, instructing me that I can claim for PPI. It's not something I've seen before but I have confirmed it's genuine.
Anyway they've come back to me confirming I can claim for mis-sold PPI which involves filling in 4 or 5 pages of information. I seem to recall the MSE letter method wasn't that detailed.
Has anyone claimed PPI this way recently and gone through the process with the banks own documents, filling in the information as per their instructions, or do people generally ignore that and defer back to the MSE letter template?
Thanks.
