Is the Dyson V6 Trigger the same as the Dyson V6?

Hi

My Dyson V6 Animal has packed up and needs replacing. I have made the mistake of buying a Vax which is basically rubbish!

I have now seen Dyson do a Dyson V6 Trigger handheld which appears to be the same as the V6 animal floor stick but does not come with the floor stick or docking station for charging.

Does anyone know if I can use the floor stick and docking station from my broken V6 Animal with a new V6 Trigger?

From what I can see they are basically the same but the Trigger is £100 today instead of £190 for a Dyson V6. The only difference I see is the floor attachments and the docking station are not supplied with the handheld trigger version.

I could always go and find the two models on display somewhere but thought it is worth asking here first.

Thanks.

Have you compared the v6 animal floorstick to the v6 trigger handheld? These are the two models I am specifically looking at for this thread.

    Thanks.
  • Have no experience of the trigger I was just saying that the other v6’s are not interchangeable. I would recommend going into a store (John Lewis) where you can try them and then you’ll know for sure.

    Really? I am very surprised.
OP....not quite the same as your situation but I used to own one of the earlier version Dyson handhelds. When they brought out the stick versions I called Dyson and asked if I could buy the wand and use it with my unit, they said NO.
I then went to Amazon and bought a compatible wand which fitted just fine. I bought a set of genuine Dyson attachments which were on sale and they fitted onto the wand which now gave me a new style wand handheld.
The motor on that eventually blew and I upgraded to a V6 Total clean which came with its own main brush attachments but I still use the smaller attachments that I owned from my old, cobbled together handheld.

As the OP I just want to update on the answer to my own question for any future reader:

The V6 Trigger is identical to the V6 Animal, it just doesn't come with the floor stick attachments so if you already have V6 floor stick attachments and charging station you will be able to use them with the Trigger. I have purchased the Trigger for £100 and am happily using the floor stick attachments and charging station from my broken V6 Animal. A saving of £90 on the cheapest floor stick version of the V6 currently available.

    Thanks for everyone's input.
