The gaff I've just moved into was upgraded by the previous guy to Sky HD.I've always set the FTA channels myself, but don't have a HD box.I do however have an Openbox which is HD capable, but although I've searched Sky28A,Astra 1C and Astra 1H,I just get endless variations of Drama,Yesterday,Dave, etc, and none of the "mainstream" channels.Any clues?

Sky HD is irrelevant in this case. What channels are you looking for specifically? You'll find them all at 28.2 Degrees East. An actual Sky+HD box will receive all the FTA channels without a card and some others with a Freesat from Sky card.
The various different variations of the channels are typically for different types of distribution and destinations - ie different adverts for different regions for example.0 -
An Openbox will not sort the channels into logical order (LCN) you have to do it yourself or search using "Find" or download and install a pre sorted channel list from here:

But be careful with these as, especially on the Skybox series, the wrong file will brick them. You then end up having to connect them to a PC and reflashing them to get them back into a working state.0 -

Unless you are using a clone, it is very unlikely there will be any issues. The linked website has been supplying these for years.0
