PRA group debt collectors

Hello everyone
I am seeking some advice please . I took out a £3000 loan from Halifax around 2005-2006 shortly after that I fell into depression and lost my job, as a result I was unable to afford my repayments and I got a CCJ . I struggled financially for a couple of years after because of my depression. After years of getting myself back on my feet I over looked the debt until recently I received a call from PRA group uk saying that they bought the debt from Halifax bank and they are willing to reduce the debt by 90%. I agreed but didn’t pay as yet , they gave me 28 days for the offer and to seek advice . What shall I do , should I pay the amount as I don’t want it to ruin my credit rating after suffering for so long to rebuild it.

The debt won’t become statute barred, as legal action has been taken, however it appears judgement was made more than 6 years ago, which means the creditor would need to go back to court to obtain permission to enforce the judgement.
The court may say you have had time enough to enforce this agreement, and deny them permission, hence why they want to settle for what they can get.
It’s up to you really, pay 10% and have done with it, or call their bluff, and maybe pay nothing, but it’s a gamble.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Yes. They can try and take you to court for permission to enforce the CCJ as more than 6 years have elapsed since it was granted.2.88 kWp System, SE Facing, 30 Degree Pitch, 12 x 240W Conergy Panels, Samil Solar River Inverter, Havant, Hampshire. only if they bought the debt , whilst the CCJ was active
OP , regarding noddle , not your credit score , check if any CCJs are active and runningSave a Rachael

It won't come back to haunt you on your file past 6 years, no matter what you will do now, so it either is gone already or will be soon, and that's for good.
The biggest factor in determining whether the judge will allow the collection past this date is whether they were actively chasing it through this time, if they did but you simply made yourself unfindable then it will likely be granted. So tread carefully, but I would personally pay it off and take the stress off my shoulders if I can afford it.0 -
On noddle it states that I don’t have any ccjs0
