  • maybe start at 362500 implying that £365k is on your mind, and then see how hard they push back. If you start at £365K I think they will assume £370K is in play. If you start at £360K I think you will just get a no

I like this thinking. Maybe I'll go for 363k :)
Hi KP... you get notifications when someone books a viewing on the property you are interested in?

You have an account with purple bricks and when you save properties it notifies you of any activity on that property, including other people making viewings or offers on it. It's quite good actually, one of the few things I like about purple bricks!

Right I'm going to be brave and put in 363k. Just hope the system works and they actually get the offer, otherwise I might be left in limbo not knowing if they've seen it or not!
  • Bad news - I've just texted my EA to let him know we've offered on something, and he said he literally just had a message from our buyers saying they are pulling out because we've taken so long :( Not sure if it's because they've actually found something else or it's just threats.

Also just had a message from purple bricks saying they are looking for £375

Looks like we are going to have to start again with putting our house back on the market, and just hope there is something we actually want to buy at the same time as ours sells, seems impossible at the moment :(

If your buyers pull out because of the reason given then you have had a lucky escape, as I feel they would have been a nightmare, and/or weren't committed to your property

+ If they have offered £375K then if its still available in a few weeks when you have another buyer you could probably shake down to under £370K, how much under depends on time on market, and how much of your nerve you can hold!!
I think I saw you in an ice cream parlour
Drinking milk shakes, cold and long
Smiling and waving and looking so fine
