I would recommend asking on the weddings board...it's under 'special occasions' and 'weddings and anniversarys' on the MSE forum. Lots of tips over there from people in the same position.0

We had our reception in a hall above a pub. I know it doesn't sound very glam, but it was lovely there, we were able to decorate it ourselves, there was no minimum numbers and they offered buffet food, drink etc. It kept costs down, but was very nice.0

I don't know how different costs are in Ireland but be prepared for things to be more expensive than you expect! I second outlet store for dress. I used eBay a lot too. Things might be made from China but nobody will tell and it'll be cheap.
I cut corners quite a bit with outlet dress, slaters suits, eBay bridesmaid dresses altered by my mum, eBay accessories and shoes, veil made by local supplier not in bridal shop (cost £75), all in one venue so no cars, silk flowers, made my own centrepiece and seating plan, a friend made the invites for us and a relatice sorted out the cake. We still spent around £10000 for 65 day guests to 100 evening. I spent a little over half my budget on the venue, other things add up a bit (I also did allow some luxuries like a band rather than dj and fireworks because it was bonfire night, we had 3 course meal and evening food and it was a mid range venue - nicer than a holiday inn but not one of those posh ones where you pay just to hire before any food is included!)Trying to lose weight (13.5lb to go)0 -
My eldest was best man for a wedding at a band club. Venue cost £1,000.
I got married at a registry office for £39. Albeit the divorce knocked £300k off the balance sheet.
You're planning a rather expensive party for one day. That's your perogative. But have one last think about why serving up free food to distant relatives you may never see again is a good idea.
Regardless, congratulations!0 -
You don't say whether North or South Ireland, suspect latter. However if former then the Templeton Hotel near Belfast International Airport has a deal of £4999 for 70 guests. You could search for similar deals near your location.0

i went to a wedding in Ireland from England. We just booked flights and hired a car. You don't need to organise anyone's flights.
People are well capable of doing it themselves.
It will be expensive enough with the exchange rate and the Irish economy.
I hope you get what you want but organising an Irish wedding will not be cheap.2017- 5 credit cards plus loan
