bathroom extractor fan pull cord with timer

Hello

I am after recommendation for good bathroom fan. I got serious issue with condensation in the bathroom and I believe it is because my current fan doesn't stay on after switching off.

The existing fan is with pull cord and as I would like to replace myself I am looking for one with pull cord as well but also timer option so I can set it to work for a while after switching off too.

You will need an Electrician to alter the wiring.

One with humidistat would help, we have one in the en-suite and it comes on whenever the humidity hits a certain level. Ours is an xpelair and it's really good and quiet

If you have a serious condensation problem perhaps you should consider a trickle fan with a humidistat. We have one in our downstairs wetroom. It runs constantly and boosts up when we use the shower.
  • Most of the fans I looked at recently to replace an older model come with a timer, and there are humidistat options too. The pull cord one I just went for (Vent-Axia) switches off after 3 to 25 minutes, which is adjustable and satisfactory to me.

I find the fan effective for clearing condensation in general, but they don't last that long... around 2-3 years in my experience, with intermittent cleaning to keep things working efficiently.
  • I installed a vent axia svara in my bathroom and it is excellent. Has trickle mode, light sensor and humidity sensor. Also works using without a switched live which might be useful depending on your current wiring setup.

I have this model too - due to its "intelligent" nature it can run at three speeds, monitoring movement and humidity to decide when to speed up and slow down. It can also be configured for quiet periods overnight, and a boost triggered from your mobile for the times when you might want that... :rotfl:

    Its quiet too.
