Broken boiler

Hello,
Thank you very much for your reply.
In this case, what would be a reasonable time to have this looked at and repaired, please ?
I've had no reply at all from the landlord since the 23rd of December. I would have expected to be told when he or someone else would come to check and repair.
Thank you again.0 -
have you located a user guide for the boiler? Just in case it is something simple.0

Hello.
I have and learned some bits about the boiler.
However, I don't get an error code.
It starts, then stops, and the burner symbol is not displayed.
Not sure to try much myself, as he'd surely say it's my fault of any change.
The last time I had a problem, I got the F22 error (Low water pressure or ignition temperature rise too slow), but not this time.
Thank you very much for your suggestion.0 -

To give you an idea my boiler broke down in February 2016 and it took 6 weeks for it to be repaired. This is a busy time of year for Gas Safety Engineers and if parts need to be ordered that will take time.0 -
Have you written yet?
You should have had a letter in the 1st class post today.0 -
Done! Thank you.0

Hello,
A quick update.
Still no response from the landlord (after 6 days or 3 working days).
A friend sent a plumber to look at the boiler today - £ 80, paid by me for now (lower than the 200+ VAT of the emergency ones). One of the valves by the tank was not OK, letting air in the system, which is what was stopping the boiler from working.
Heating and hot water back to normal.
Now I need to follow up on recovering the money. The links received earlier in the thread are very helpful. My first letter was already sent. Thank you.
Does anyone know If I can claim from the landlord the money for the radiators I bought (£ 40), but not been able to keep a decent temperature in the house (not double glazed windows) these days ?
And does anyone know if I can claim money off the rent for the days I waited for him to reply or the days I had to stay over at friends (with my daughter) ?
Thank you again for each answer.0 -

You can claim the £80 you paid to a plumber.
6 days with no heating is not unreasonable, particularly over Christmas.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0
