Re kindle 7

Hi Guys, just had. Kindle 7 7th edition.
Is there any need for AV.
Really will only use it as an e reader, replace my old kindle for books.
May, e mail!!?
Got I pad for all that.
I cannot find any in there amazon App Store.
If it,s required, do I just download it via normal route, avast or any recommendations:beer

Need a new case for it, amazon have numerous 7th gen, 2014 .
Mines 2017 with Alexa, whatever the difference is,
I don,t know?
Any recommendations on a case, craftily, Amazon pitch there,s at £19.99, so have to pay for package!

Kindles are locked down you can only get "stuff" off the Amazon store for them and they'll only be books anyway. As a general rule if something doesn't appear on the store then generally you don't need it for that platform.

As for cases, just find something you like the look of, plenty on eBay, Amazon isn't the only place for these.

Make sure you get a case that is for your Kindle, will be loads on ebay.

Regarding anti virus, its not needed.

Kindle 7 ... I assume you mean a Kindle Fire 7"? If yes then it is very easy to put the Google Play Store onto it ... therefore you're NOT restricted to Amazon's store (as post #2 implies).

And regarding AV ... no, you don't need it - even if you put Play Store on it.

thanks DoaM, put it on iPad, and installed google mini.ok.

All that was in the box was, plug in, download app, and give google loads of personal info!
