Tax Residency Self Certification

I have received one of the above forms to fill in from one of my banks anyone had one of these before, it says it is to comply with new laws brought in. It also asks for a TIN number which from reading the attached letter appears to be SS number so I am assuming it is my NI Number which is used for tax purposes, anyone confirm?

Yes I received a similar letter from HSBC and a few other financial institutions that I filled in and returned to them - its to do with the Common Reporting Standard.

You are correct, it will be your National Insurance Number (NINO) that you have to enter.

You can also use your Unique Taxpayer Reference (UTR) that you use on self assessment tax returns, if you do them.
