Planning my great escape

Options
Hello

Am starting this diary to try and help myself to get a better life for my children and myself. I need to pay off my debt and get some money behind myself to start somewhere on my own.

Not entirely sure about exactly how much I owe. Not really a clue on how I'm going to pay it off at the moment and no idea how to change things, but I'm going to figure out a way.

Off the top of my head this is what I owe :

Aqua credit card £ 2077
Capital One (1) £200
Capital One (2) £200
Very £400

Am going to try and find the SOA thingy. X

  • I can't work out how to post a soa on my phone. Will have to try and get on the laptop sometime but it might have to wait until DH is back at work.

Need to find as many ways of upping my income as possible. Am up to £29 on prolific academy - hoping to try and save all this for Christmas 2018 but will withdraw it if I need to. Am going to try and sell some bits on eBay - haven't done this before but going to give it a go.

Have work tomorrow and need to find someone to look after the kids while I'm there - surely I can make 2018 a better year xx
  • We look forward to your SOA and seeing what we can do to help. :)

  • Morning

I've been looking through bits and pieces and realised I've had no contributions from DH since December 2nd. This is really not fair. Just waiting for him to go out and im going to make some phone calls and see if I can get some advice.

Will need to buy some bread and milk today so not a NSD but definitely low spend. Still trying to find someone to watch DC while I go to work at 2 so I'm starting to worry a bit xx
  • Happy new diary, and good luck with your journey. Hope you manage to resolve some contribution from your H.
  • Thanks redofromstart, Unfortunately he's always been tight with his money - I just didn't see it at the beginning of our relationship. He is earning approximately £500 per week and flatly refusing to pay anything. Likes to keep cash at his mothers (he has thousands there). Now today is also refusing to look after my DC
    while I work. Xx
  • Good afternoon. Little update time.

Been and did a little Aldi shop £27 should have enough meals for a week and just need to top up fresh bits. Going to drop 2 of my DD over to my mums tomorrow for a few days so I can work without having to ask mr poppypen to look after them.

Tried to talk to mr.poppypen and discuss money. Was a complete waste of time and got no where just another big argument. Going to have to change my tax credits claim I think, but worried about being without money for the weeks it takes for them to make the changes. Xx
  • Poppy thats not nice of him, I've a friend with a Mr that does the same. She has two littles and only works part time, and he sits with her once a week and wants an exact breakdown of where 'his' money has gone. There's no teamwork it's like an interrogation. Why did you need to buy milk and bread on tuesday kinda thing.

I don't have any practical advice, but just want you to know that kind of control isn't right, and i figure you already know this, but you WILL be better on your own. xx

  • Thanks coffeecakeandyarn, yes I know it's not right, it's just the tip of the iceberg really. The problem is I just don't know how to change anything right now. Xx
  • Oh sweets, I wish I could give some real practical advice, but honestly I wouldn't know where to start. I left a bad relationship without children involved and that was hard enough, so I can only imagine how you feel. If you need to talk though, I can always lend an ear x
