Hiya All,

Anyone been to Milan recently?

Im off in January for my mums birthday pressy, can anyone advise on a hotel please. To be honest I don't know what my budget is ????
I guess a 3star, its always good when someone has stayed somewhere, I mean all the hotel websites look good as they are selling it to me.

Also anyone got any inside tips on designer outlets, it will be January sales...wooowooo

I'll post back when I have found above info even if none of you guys can help for the next people that search as I have noticed cheap flights to milan thread so im sure next thing on peoples list will be this ;)

Cheers

  • Hey,

Depending on budget, if you want to blow a few hundred, the best hotel in Milan is without doubt the Park Hyatt. The location is great and the rooms are incredible! Next on the list would be the Bulgari which again is superbly located and of a extremely high standard.

If you are looking for a excellent quality hotel but with a more down to earth rate, try the Starhotels Anderson which has a great location opposite the Milan Centrale Train Station, superb facilities and very high quality rooms. Expect to pay around €160 a night here.

    Hope this helps!

  • Thanx...the star hotel looks fab, but it is showing as fully booked for the whole of next year ???

I'll watch the site though as I'm in no rush to book

    Cheers for your help
  • Does anyone know if Linate airport is close enough to the city to stay?
How much would a taxi be into the city shopping area do you think?

I found a great price hotel there, only £32 a night....even though we are actually flying to Bergamo airpot,doh!...no frills ryan air you see.

Thanx anyone that can point me in the best direction.

I'd recommend doing a search on venere.com - really helpful website with lots of good maps/reviews, and reasonable prices too (which you also don't have to pay in advance)
PM me if you want a 4% discount code.

I think it's a good idea to check out this website even if you find hotels cheaper elsewhere, as the descriptions and maps are generally better than other sites in my opinion.

    Hope that helps

PS - I'm not connected to this website in any way, and I don't gain anything from this post. I also found the discount code on another forum.
  • Hi, we stayed in the starhotel anderson in Aug. It was fab, really swanky.

A bus from Bergamo airport droped us off at the central train station, and the hotel is right there!! The metro stop was really close and easy to use. Have a look at trip advisor for some ideas. I'd recomend the anderson tho!!

    Have a great time
  • Ta i'll check out the site now.
Star hotel looked amazing sounds like a perfect location if only it wasn't booked up ;(...although may be silly staying somewhere like that when we will be out all day and night.

Have to check out where those cheap designer shops are now...

And I may look at staying in Bergamo as it looks really nice....ooo lots to look at.

    Thanx
