I intend on getting married in 2018, however a friend of mine said that I would not be entitled to housing benefit once i'm married.
is this true? does anyone have anymore info on this? and any real life experiences they could share?

HB relies on household income, e.g someone who lives with you (who isn't a lodger) or a spouse (whether they live with you or not). If your and your future spouses income is low enough to claim HB then you still can.0

Depends on the joint household income once you are living together. The question is impossible to answer without more information. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
You will be assessed as a couple.0

If you live with a partner, only one of you can get Housing Benefit.

Are you already living together?0

It is based on household income. The authorities don't care about your marital status.Overactively underachieving for almost half a century0

So you decided not to go ahead with the house purchase?0
