Sorry to hear all that - sounds like a disaster and it must feel chilling to know that there's somebody lurking around your flats up to no good.

I cannot resist hijacking your thread to have a quick whinge though, that it never fails to amaze me (and don't think I don't believe you, because I do) to hear that some dodgy-looking scrote can walk in to a bank with a collection of bin-scented ripped-in-half junk mail with teabag stains down them and walk out with access to thousands of pounds of other people's money for which those other people are liable if they can't jump through enough hoops, while I can't open a non-overdraft account with Natwest because although I can provide bank statements, utility bills, payslips, letter from my mother etc etc I am currently between passports and don't have a drivers licence. Perhaps you could put me in touch with your friendly neighbourhood fraudster and he can sort it out for me!
