Worcester 24i rsf, seized fan, hole, options?

I made the mistake of stopping this when the fan was running roughly and it's now seized. Trying to remove the fan unit to apply some WD40 and silicone lubricant I found that the upper left screw is stuck, haven't yet got it out. Adding better lighting, it's worse: there's a roughly 1cm x 2cm diagonal corroded hole on the hood area that the fan unit screws into, part 18 in this exploded view. Starts (visibly...) a few mm below the screw at the left edge of the fan unit rear plate then up and to the left at about 310 degrees.
Are there any useful cost-effective repair options for this?
Added joy is that one landlord has obtained a court order against the other landlord forcing sale of the property so they will be looking for the cheapest option. Ideally I'd like to be able to present a quote to make it easy for them to do the sensible, right thing.
Not an emergency because I have backup fan heaters, an electric shower and kettle.
Any thoughts?

It will need replacing, new flue hood and fan, would imagine the flue hood will be £30-£50 and fan £80-£100.
This is the landlords problem and he needs someone gas safe registered to repair.0 -
New fan units are 90-110, ebay used 25-35. Haven't seen any availability of the hood part 18 so far.0

What the landlord is happy to have me do. Opinions on whether only a pro can touch the fan or even remove the cover have varied. I'm not going to accept it for ongoing service without a pro being involved in the near future, nor would a sensible landlord, including mine.AndyMc..... wrote: »What are you doing messing with a boiler in a rented property?

Really can’t see how it’s your problem, it’s rented let the landlord deal with it. Your removing a combustion cover so need to be gas safe. Do you have a gas safety certificate issued every year?
The flue hood will still be available for that boiler.0 -
I'm a few hundred miles closer than the landlord. I'll probably ask the firm which did the last check and a PCB replacement to give some idea of price and timeline that I can pass on.0
