in Credit cards
Hello,
last year around this time I had ordered the Morgan Stanley Cashback credit card. I waited and waited and nothing came back...until one week after Christmas i finally received my card. i was so angry because it took them almost 3 months and I had missed the shoppings. I have canceled the card a bit later.
This year, thinking of being experienced, I ordered the Capital One 4% cashback card more in time. After only 1.5 weeks I have received today the bloody forms to sign up. Now its a bit too soon for me.
The reason is that I hoped start using the card mid/end November, because of my upcoming holiday bookings in January.
The small prints say from the day of accounts opening the 4% Cashback will be valid for 3 months. Well when exactly is the opening? is my account right now already open and I am loosing the days? Is it the day they receive my signature? or the day I receive the credit card? or even the day i activate my credit card?
Do I have a way to make the process slower?
Thanks
houmie

If you haven't signed the forms, have they done credit checks on you?
It looks to me as though they are just slow processing your application - but the account cannot actually be opened until they have completed the process of credit checking and have your form back.0 -
yes i am sure they have done so. The moment you apply for the card, it takes about 15 seconds and it checks straight away online for your credit history and I got accepted. Then after 1.5 weeks I received a welcome letter that I have been accepted and a form to sign and send back to receive the credit card.0

Interesting nobody really knows when the initial cash back of 4% would actually start?0

Capital One will know so why not ask them? I suspect it will be from when they receive your signed agreement form.
