Hi my daughter got a HP Sprocket for Christmas and she is an art student. She will want to use it a fair bit but the paper works out expensive so she asked me if its possible to buy big sheets of printer paper and cut it down with a guillotine.
I tried looking it up but found no information on cheating like this to save money so does anybody know if it is possible? Is the paper different to other printer paper? Usually I find anything to do with printers is a bit of a con like charging a fortune for ink so I cant help wandering that you can save on the paper like you can on ink.
Any help of info appreciated.

having looked into this for my daughter, i don't think there is a cheap alternative. As i understand things, the paper is treated to react to heat to create the image.
the best i found was
ClickyNever put off till tomorrow what you can do today!
Cos if you do it today and like it...You can do it again tomorrow..

seems like similar technology to thermal paper, that also reacts to heat and you find a lot of them in card machines and what not. Its a Polaroid technology so some instant cameras used something similar I suppose.
This HP post suggests you can cut the paper but after printing:

which suggests to me if you cut the paper before printing you may upset the chemical balance which may affect the final print. But I suppose there's no harm in trying.0 -
Been a year so you may not be using this anymore but HP website have the paper on offer presently. 3 for 2 on 50 sheet packs. I paid about £40 for 150 sheets yesterday. Pick the pack of 50 paper, select 'bundles...and finally...use code CBQ119AF29 for an additional 2.5% discount. Postage was free :j0
