Got the bairn a midi interface to connect his PC to his keyboard - anyone have any recommendations for software. Doesnt need to be full professional type stuff - just something where he can stick stuff together and then play it on his keyboard, or record from his keyboard and play on the PC if poss - just for him to mess about with really.

Melody Assistant or Harmony Assistant are free to try - and pretty powerful even in unlicensed form.

Also if you want the licensed version the license is permanent, I bought one years ago and still works with the latest version.
