Hi My Dvd reader writer is making grinding noise's I've taken it a part but cant find anything broken.
It is a TSST Corps DVD RW TS- H653 ATA Device
I was wondering if this is these are the same dvd writers on the Pc world one the connector's on the back look the same except mine does NOT have the 6 pin Block connector.

  • How does your DVD connect? If it's a wide cable like on the left you'll need to source a 2nd hand ATA drive, if it's like the cable on the right, a new SATA drive will be fine.

    Hi Debbie it is the one on the right but it also has another cable at the side of it slightly wider.
    I was thinking about an external dvd drive writer in stead but not sure on what to get

    Go to your local computer repair shop - they might even give you a second-hand SATA DVD drive 'free'.
