Hi
Been in our house for 5 years now and now decided 2018 we finally renovate it all !!
We had the electrics done when we first moved but apart from that it's the same...kids do that to you !!
So I'm confused about the order I need to do things. These are things we plan to do:
New windows
New flooring /carpet
New wardrobes
Painting whole place
New skirt boards
There's also plans to do a rear single story extension, build over the garage and loft conversion. Ideally I'd like someone to come in and say this is what you should do your property....

I would do windows, wardrobes, paint then hard flooring then skirting (then paint skirting), then carpets.
But if you're getting building done, do that first.0 -

Messiest jobs first.
Then the 'pretty' stuff - painting, then carpet laying (you don't want to risk dropping pain on the new carpet.
Finally the new furniture - making extra sure that you don't damage the new paintwork getting the furniture in.No longer a spouse, or trailing, but MSE won't allow me to change my username...0 -
Thanks guys.
I think the loft conversion and the build over the garage is a few years away but we are going to try and start on the kitchen extension in 2018. In the mean time I don’t think there is any harm in changing the upstairs windows and doing some decorating etc upstairs and leave downstairs as it until the extension is complete.0
