Happy Birthday MrsI :bdaycake:
describes for boyfriends ect we always used to do a token gift like a lynx set until they became more permanant . A gift voucher for something they can do as a couple cinema/bowling/meal out ect can be a good idea and takes the pressure off picking something for them alone.
Storkie its tough when they mess you around hopefully it won't be too bad
Tesco have 1/2 price advent calendars this week so picked up maltesers & galaxy ones for the kids so that is another thing sorted
Disneystore have fleece blankets on offer for £10 this week so got 1 for taz and picked up the 1/2 price wys £10+ minnie for dgd
Still debating the switch for ds as I'd need to buy some extra games for it as well which will bump the total cost up quite a bit and its already a fair amount over my normal per child budget but he doesn't really ask for much and isn't actually expecting to get it due to the cost so it would be a real surprise.
superdrug have lynx sets for £2.49 this week probably about the cheapest they'll be before xmasthis year do something that scares you for courage is not the absence of fear just the knowledge that some things are worth the risk0 -

Describes I'm with stokie too but in the interests of family harmony I was also going to suggest a meal voucher , perhaps somewhere like Nando's or Prezzo, or Bella Italia...but mandco beat me too it
my view is that if you're expected to buy something for them, they're not getting anything personal until you know what they'd like, so if that's not the case they'll have to like or lump a 'couples' gift.
I didn't mean that to sound quite so bah humbug
Stokie sorry to hear about the job front, I hear a lot of stories about the field you work in where those 'upstairs' seem to forget the staff are actually people, not contract cattle. Hope it's not as bad at it may seem.
Happy Birthday mrs I :bdaycake:
I noticed the other day Superdrug have a lot of their Xmas gifts at half price now, which I think is a bit naughty because no doubt people have already been out trying to be organised and buying some early and these prices are prob more in line with what the store says really expect to sell them for.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Describes- try not to worry too much about getting the perfect gift for them, if they can't be bothered to have a proper conversation with you they don't deserve much worry!
Lynx, socks, chocolate, slippers, maybe a xmas tshirt if you know their size roughly.
Belated Happy birthday to Mrs I too, hope you had a lovely day!:j
I got a couple of cheap presents from crazy clearance (clearance stuff from simplybe, jd williams, jacamo etc), got my younger sister a 'sisters before misters' tshirt as she's at that age where only boys exist in the world haha, and some distillery marmalade for someone to be decided later.
Feeling more festive day by day :beer:0 -
_party_ HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY MRSINVISIBLE! _party_ I hope you had a lovely day.
radioactivepig ooh i’ll have to have a nose on Crazy Clearance…
Popped into Tesco yesterday and got a big scratchcard for DH’s stocking and 10 Christmas £1 scratchcards for some pots of gold I’m making for the family from the boys. I was trying to look online for ‘pots of gold’ inspiration but I can’t find any! I know people on this thread in previous years have done them and uploaded photo’s but I wouldn’t even know what year to start looking at! I’ve got some mini Twix’s, Wherthers Originals, gold wrapped chocolate eclairs and gold coins so hopefully that should be enough with the scratchcard. I also picked up two Cadbury’s advent calendars for DH and I, no matter how old I am I will always have one!0 -
I’m feeling all nostalgic as I’ve just been reading the first few pages of this year’s thread and found my resolutions for this year. They were:
Be less snappy and short tempered
Try a new craft every two months
Do 30 mins exercise 5 times a week
Keep eating my five a day
I failed miserably on all but the exercise one (counting my hour walking with my sis and her dog Monday to Friday). Am I downhearted? No I am notIt's the most wonderful timeof the year :0 -
Had an email from bargain crazy (littlewoods clearance site) they have free delivery on orders over £15 atm.
They have Baliss and Harding candle sets £6.99, Ladybirds pack of 3 xmas bodysuits 0-3months for £4.99, Gisela Graham Set Of 3 Glitter House Decorations £4.99, Mens Minions Bah Humbug T-Shirt £3.99, Ann summers Ms Santa outfit £7.99.
Also the womens dresses start from £2.99, plenty of bargains if you can find the right size!0 -
Well I currently have 245 cards made for the school fair - mixture of birthday and christmas. Probably far too many but gives lots of choice for folks :rotfl: -
Think I am pretty much all set now for it. Got my change, got my paper bags, got my baskets and stands for displaying with. Just equal measures scared and excited for it now.
Hope everyone is ok today. Still annoyed about work but as nothing I can do just going to get on with it for a few weeks. New Year will be here before we know it really so can reassess then as long as don't feel bad with it all the next few weeks. Won't let it spoil Christmas£2 Savers Club for 2022 #120
