Heard a story today old lady goes into bank to use cash point machine . Man stood by machine as she uses it , they both arrived at machine at same time and he told her to use it first. Hour or so later the lady is stood at a bus stop when a girl comes out of nowhere just as she gets to bus stop and says to old lady "Youve dropped this tenner its yours" After a look of disbelief etc and the lady saying it wasnt hers the girl refuses not to give it her so the lady gets out her purse and immediately she does so someone walks past and knocks the purse out of her hand onto the floor. The young girl dives down to pick it up and then hands it back to old lady.
However the girl managed to remove the ladys bank card when the purse was on the floor and the lady never realised the card was gone till she got home. She phoned her daughter who soon discovers that £3k had gone from the old ladies bank acct.
The police told her that this is now quite a common thing. Obviously the man in bank watched her PIN etc

Most cards have daily cash limit of £300-500. Guess the card could be used in branch but it would be covered with CCTV.0

I think “story” is correct name for it.0

Anyone believe this ? Nope ? Thought so.0

There are so many holes in this story, banks have cctv at doors and cash machines, my own bank won’t allow me to withdraw £3,000 from my own account without other checks. If you were to withdraw by cash machine you are not allowed more than £200 or £300 at a time and if you were to try and do ten withdrawals in a morning your card would be held by the bank machine.0

Far too complicated to be true!0

I was at a cash machine yesterday and an old lady asked me to check her balance so I pushed her over.0
